So many people want to try the low fat, low sugar, low sodium 100% raw diet for fast weight loss, but can't get past the first day to see how it works.
Others join my Fast Weight Loss Boot Camp and drop out before the first week, which is such a waste of money. So, I decided to offer a quick-try workshop, to help people test the waters before committing to a diet like this.
This is the diet I used to lose 139 pounds in just 9 months and go from totally out of whack hormones and hypothyroidism to balance and no need for thyroid meds. Others have used this diet to get rid of fibromyalgi, chronic fatigue, snoring, to lessen arthritic pain, and even one to manage her MS. Everyone's different, and there are never guarantees, but this diet is so clean, that after four months, I felt like spring water flowed in my veins! After six months, I didn't need the thyroid meds anymore. And in the five years since, I have not had one bout of severe depression that plagued me for years before. It's spring-time in the northern hemisphere. There is no better time to do a low fat, low sugar, 100% raw program.
This is just five days of low fat, low sugar, low sodium 100% Raw Food. There are no recipes, no need for dehydrates, juicers, Vitimixers or any other type of un-cooking utensils. You will be eating simple whole foods. No juicing, and although we will have a smoothie day, these five days are about eating lots of fresh whole fruits and veggies. At the bottom there are diet instructions, so you know what you are getting yourself into. If you want to do this program, you need to abide by these rules.
This program is for new clients only. If you have done Raw Food Boot Camp or been part of my other programs within the past two years, you are not eligible for this program. This is an introductory to low fat raw foods program and meant for those wondering if this could work for them.
I am however going to invite all my current clients to join us for free, as an extra perk to them, and to you!
Each day we will have a group discussion on how this all works and what you can expect to get from a diet like this. Your questions will be answered to the best of my ability. This will not be a place to debate the validity of some of the current trends in the raw food world, or to try and resolve your bad eating behaviors, it is all about surviving this amazingly fast, amazingly simple diet.
We will discuss detox, hair loss, weight loss, and any other questions you have regarding how you can follow in my foot steps and use this diet to reach your goal weight, safely, and healthfully.
This is only about the diet. I won't require you to exercise, but if you don't, shame on you! Combined it is one powerful program.
If you aren't willing to give it the five days, no matter what or how hard, then don't sign up. We want a group of determined individuals wanting to learn more about this way of eating for weight loss.
Come on, most of you have done fasts longer than five days, you can do five days of fruits and veggies.
You have to be excited about it though. It's too hard if you come to it because you think you should be raw, you need to want to give it a real try and see if it will work for you. That means a complete commitment to all five days.
I will not make you track your food in fitday, but you must be willing to adhere to the following rules.
Max 1 banana a day. I won't budge on this so don't ask. If you won't do the 1 banana a day, then don't sign up (can you tell I'm done arguing with people about bananas). If you're obese, bananas are not your friend. Oh, they are your fat brain's friend, but not your thin brain's friend. So that is the rule.
No dates, none, not one.
No added salt. That includes Nama Shoyu, Braggs, and soy sauce. Some seaweeds are sodium free, soy products normally are not. Read your labels. Better yet, live without them.
No dehydrated foods.
No sprouts.
No corn, potato, hard squashes, or sweet potatoes.
No tahini.
No hummus.
No agave, honey, or sugar cane
No coconut or coconut water
No more than 20% of your diet can come from fat. Since I am not making you log your food, you will have to abide by these rules.
Max Fats for the day:
1/4 avocado + 1 TB of oil per day. No seeds or nuts.
1/2 avocado + 1 tsp of oil per day. No seeds or nuts.
1 avocado per day. No seeds or nuts or oil.
1 oz seeds or nuts (you will need to measure) and either 1/2 avocado or 1TB of oil.
Those are either/or options.
Teas without honey, agave, or sugar are allowed.
1 cup of almond milk a day is allowed.
How the 5 days will go:
Here is how it will work. You must apply and pay your registration fee by Sunday, the 12th 7PM Pacific Time. Monday morning (Pacific Time), you will have an email from me with instructions and directions to the forum we are going to use. There are usually enough people from different parts of the world, so don't let time zones scare you.
There won't be any audios like in my other programs, and you won't have a private daily log with me, but I will be very active in the questions, discussions, and accountability threads.
Every day there will be a 2X a day accountability thread that you must post to. When you get up, you'll go to the thread and tell everyone that you are on program for the day. You'll write out any concerns you have, any fears, problems, joys, etc. Then in the evening, you'll come back and tell us how you did.
I do recommend you give yourself an evening eating curfew so you can get through nighttime snacking.
Don't be afraid of the program. It is meant to give you the opportunity to see if this type of diet will work for you. I won't be pulling out my whip, but I will expect you to put the whining over missed foods away for the five days and keep a positive attitude. Attitude is everything. If you are already whining about the rules above, then this isn't the right program for you. That's not meant to be mean, it's just the truth. You have to look at this and say. Wow, it's strict, but will it work? The answer is yes. And because of how strict it is, you will beat cravings faster, you will gain energy faster, and you will see results much faster. It is so worth the try.
Want to do it. Want to see if this could be your ultimate diet. And be willing to enjoy it. Set these five days aside as go for it days!

We are going to wake up the Raw Food Boot Camp forum. In our Monday and Friday posts you will be required to weigh in, but you won't be required to weigh in on any database or send in photos. Although, trust me, if you decide you like this diet, you will want those photos!

If you are worried if such a stringent diet can be healthy, I assure you. I did this exact diet to lose my weight, and after 9 months of eating with all those rules above, I not only lost 139 pounds, but I regulated my thyroid, regulated all my hormones, and my liver once again started to produce all those amino acids it had given up on. My protein, iron, calcium levels were all within normal range. I went from unhealthy to healthy eating like this, so in my opinion, and remember I am not a medical, nutritional or fitness professional, just a woman who has done this and loved it, so in my opinion, this is way healthier than obesity or gastric bypass surgery.

This 5 day program has given me the opportunity to see whether or not I could do this. Prior to this, I kept trying to have 100% raw days but never made it. I kept trying to do the raw recipes and was spending so much time at the grocery and in the kitchen for meals that really weren't that good. I never liked to cook and i don't like to uncook. The simplicity of simple raw just appeals to me.
The daily audios and accountability on the forum helped me to stick with it even when I didn't want to. This boot camp helped to push me thru and while I know it will be hard, I want to continue.

The program was great. I especially liked hearing the daily messages they were very motivating. Also, hearing everyone daily triumphs and struggles made me feel like I was not going through this alone. I now know that I am capable of losing weight the healthy way and RFBC is the way to do it. I'm happy to report I lost 3 lbs this week. That may not sounds like much, but it's not bad for someone who's been taking steroids since January. I could have easily gained twice that much if I hadn't been on the raw food, so I've very pleased. I am amazed at how I feel and how much I like eating this way. This was a great way to try to plan without the weight of a huge commitment. Thanks to everyone on the forum for sharing. It was a huge help to read all your entries each day and get motivated alongside you.

Why I love this program: it just works.
I've done raw (w/ one cooked meal per week) before and lost 20 lbs in 6 wks (following more traditional "eat fat if you need/want, eat sweets if you need/want, your body will tell you what you need" thinking). Thought that was pretty good at the time. In 2.5 wks before starting this program, lost 5 lbs eating raw til dinner. Now - w/ Carlene's plan - I've lost almost 7 lbs in 5 days. Better yet - I'm moving past all the cravings that I never got over in 6 wks before (probably because I was substituting raw vs of the same yummy foods that I'd binge on w/ a SAD diet).
The daily audios have been a great source of motivation. I love that they are there to go listen to anytime. If cravings or the desire to just give up, get the best of you, just click on any one of the audios and you will find you just want fruit again. I also loved the daily accountability threads. It always seemed like when any one person was having a rough day, there was another who was having a great day. It's only been five days; but I know the one day I was really struggling w/ being hungry and wanted to eat anything except fruit, it was such a huge help to be able to log onto here and see some encouraging messages from others who were having a better day.
The other thing - this method is so simple. Just buy some fruits and veggies that you like, that's really it. The most work I've done for it is to throw some fruit into a blender w/ spinach for a smoothie - but you wouldn't even need to do that. Last time I tried this raw thing, part of giving it up was that I was spending so much money, and time, trying to make recipes that would get thrown away because none of us could stand to eat them. I kept telling myself that if I could just find a few meals that we'd eat, I'd do that, and given enough time I'd figure out how to prepare a wide variety of meals & deserts to keep us satisfied w/ raw foods. Never did though, and making all the recipes to imitate SAD foods only made me want the real thing more. Here - you're encouraged to just grab an apple, peel an orange. So easy. Food's always ready when you're hungry, not much need to plan ahead, beyond making sure you have some fruit/veggies available.

This 5 Days of Raw was just the 'kick' I needed to get back into the motion of downward scale movement!
I didn't know if I could do all raw, but I can do anything for 5 days - I am one of those folk who don't respond in the average way, but even my scale moved 6 pounds!
It was such a learning experience. I learned to tell the difference between head hunger and need. I don't know if I will choose to live 100% raw, but I'm not afraid of it anymore, and will definitely be using more fruit and paying a lot more attention to any processed food I consume.

Happy that I lost 3 more pounds over the last 5 days; that makes a total of 9 lbs over the past 12 days since starting a program with Carlene. Slow but steady progress! I am aiming for my goal weight by my next birthday. Staying here will help me keep that in sight!

I lost 6.5 lbs this week, down from 165 to 158.5!!! Oh my goodness gracious what a wonderful beginning (or continuation, sorta) for this journey.
As a review, I would love to add in my input that these 5 days rocked, for having a short-term commitment, seeing if I could really "do it" just for these five. I absolutely plan on continuing for a month, and hope to get a better balance between calories in/energy out.

I am so glad I did the 5 days raw program. I lost 9lbs in 5 days, but even better I proved to myself that I can do 100% raw. I always thought it would work but thought I could never do it. With Carlene's help and the accountibility of the group I did what I set out to accomplish. I feel better and I know if i keep it up I will be looking better very soon.

We talked about the black hole of depression today. The black hole that makes us not care and makes us eat. Sometimes I have fallen into the hole by accident. Other times I have defiantly jumped in.
