Important Links

Here are some other links that I found to help me understand raw and the terrors of surgery. Get informed, do nothing without researching it. Raw worked for me, it is working for many others, but don't follow us blindly, know what you are about to get into. Understand and contemplate all of your options.

Raw Food Talk
If you like the idea of raw, but do not think you could do it 100%, but would like to give it a try. Join Alissa Cohen's Raw Food Talk. This is where I hung out while losing my weight. The members are fantastic, the support is friendly, and the journal area open to anyone who wants to share their experiences. It is a free and public area. If you are going to try raw and you can't commit to the boot camp, this is the place to be!

Alkaline Forming Foods
Raw is a very alkalining diet. That is one of the reasons we experience such great health benefits. This is a website that explains the ph factor and shows you a list of alkalining and acidic foods.

Raw School
This is Nora Lenz's site. It has a lot of information.

The Beauty of Raw
Tonya Zavasta is the queen of anti-aging and turning the physcial clock back when it comes to raw. She has some great before and after pictures at her site as well. Check out all her links and read why this is such a healthy way to live.

The Horrors of Surgery
This is the I Want to Live webiste. If you have even considered bariatric or gastric bypass surgery, please visit this site. Read the stories of these people and join their forum. Investigate, Investigate, Investigate. Doctors have come up with this solution for us. We need to find our own solutions. Healthy ones. And if your saying you are so unhealthy already the risk of dying or being in a comma or having nine post operations are worth it, think again. There is only one way to be healthy: A good sound diet and exercise. Even the surgeons who will cut open your stomach and put you on a very limited diet will tell you without the proper diet and exercise the surgery will do nothing.

The After Surgery Diet
Think raw is restrictive. Try this diet! Why would anyone want to live this way when there is an alternative? There are no long term studies about the health issues malabsorbtion and malnutrition will have on people who are going after this supposedly no effort diet. But no effort is really a lie, isn't it. Do your research. The recommended diet is 1100 calories a day. Exercise is recommended for optimal weight loss, and they advice that you can eat through the surgery and not lose weight at all. Then, even when you do lose weight with this surgery they only say it will be 75% to 85% of the weight you need to lose. Where is the magic in this?
