When I first learned about raw food, it was by being introduced to Alissa Cohen's Living on Live Food DVD. I have cooked and catered my whole life and was very impressed with some of the things one could prepare raw. I immediately began my journey and even became certified to teach others. This was great fun at first making all the wonderful impressive recipes.
I did lose, but being a food addict I continued to eat till satisfied (which was a lot of food) and the weight loss slowed to a discouraging snails pace. It was then that I realized I was not able to have high fat raw as it continued to keep me addicted with big cravings for nuts and avocados. |
When I found Raw Food Boot Camp and began simple raw, the weight literally began falling off. Simple raw is just as it says "SIMPLE" no recipes no dehydrating easy to follow. Simple low fat raw, keeping the fat intake under 15% made the difference for me.
For the first time in my life I am able to REALLY taste the wonderful flavor of fresh fruits and crisp crunchy veggies. Best of all....the prep and clean up makes it so easy. What a feeling to crave a big salad or fresh blackberries that taste like candy to me! Imagine never having to turn on your stove and cleaning up greasy pots and pans!
Best of all is the fact that since going raw... I am now off all past medications that allowed me to live day to day with arthritis, diabetes, hypertension and has brought my cholesterol to normal levels for the first time in my life!
