Raw Food Boot Camp is geared toward obese women. Beating obesity and changing food addictions to healthy life choices is the primary focus of camp. You must have a BMI of 35 or more to join, which puts you at least 50 pounds over your ideal weight. This program is designed for/from an obesity point of view. About half of the members at Raw Food Boot Camp started over 200 pounds. There are those that started over 300 pounds and some over 400 pounds. Other come who weigh in the high 100s.
RFBC is a tough program and is not for the casual dieter. It is for those who are interested in changing their relationship with food for life and who want freedom from food obsession along with losing weight.
Raw Food is our tool. It is not our obsession. Unlike many raw foodists, as obese women, we have to be careful of over eating even raw foods, and we have to maintain low fat% levels in our daily diet. And because most of us are either insulin resistant, have PCOS, or are borderline diabetics, we also have to stay away from the high sugars and complex starches. So while we eat a lot, we don't eat the too sweet fruits or things like potatoes, corn and hard squashes. Exercise is also key. Where yoga does wonders for our thin cousins, for us, it is walking, and a lot of it.
The goal of this program is that not only will you lose the weight fast, but that you will work with the group to change old behaviors and incorporate new ones where eating is concerned. That is our primary focus. You do not have to commit to being 100% raw for the rest of your life, you don't even have to do a 100% raw food eating program, but you do have to incorporate raw food into your life, even if only at 50%. Raw food for some reason works faster than the same amount of cooked calories when it comes to fast weight loss for the obese.
If you are obese and don't think you are ready for fast weight loss, that's okay too. We have a Steady Weight Loss program that you can use to live a clean healthy diet, but not give up all of your cooked food or do all of the walking I require from my Butt Kickers and Fast Weight Loss members.
When joining you can choose the type of diet you want to do and whether your want to be a Butt Kicker, whre you come and just get this done, no matter what, or a Fat Brain Buster, where we work together as a team to sort our fat brain behaviors and how to break them, or a Busy Rawker where you come for the accountability from your group, but not all chatting, and do your log with me (everyone has a daily log with me).
I will tell you that everyone who has lost a 100+ pounds with me has done Butt Kicker mode. And I have had to kick their butts to get them to do it! But people like TxGirl have reached their goal weight with the Fat Brain Buster concept and a high raw diet.

What we do at Raw Food Boot Camp
Raw Food Boot Camp (RFBC) is an on-line support program led by me, Carlene Jones. I used a low fat, low sodium, low sugar 100% raw food diet and hiking to lose 136 pounds in 9 months. 104 of that was lost in six months. Since then I have been helping others lose weight the same way. When I first started Boot Camp, I was tough. I thought, the only way to do this was the way I did it, and I was drill sergeant all the way. After almost five years of coaching women I discovered not everyone can do this the way I did, so we offer different programs. Raw Food Boot Camp is about change. It is about incorporating raw food and healthy non-processed food into your life, forever! When you first join RFBC, I guide you through your first five days to help you come up with a diet and exercise plan that will work best for you. I share with what I have learned in all these years of coaching obese women with healthy food so that you can start making wise choices in your own bid for a healthy happy life.
Many are disappointed that I don't have strict diet plans, that I don't have a recipe book, and that I don't just tell them what do do. My response to that is that every diet you have ever tried has done that and it got you no where. Instead you are going to make your own diet, you are gong to see what works for you, based on who you are, not who I or anyone else in the group thinks you should be. This is tough in the beginning, but after a while, knowing you are living on a diet you approved, you created, you feel more in tune with it and don't resent it. This is very important for long-term success.
Every day at RFBC we work together as a team, or rather as three teams. We have a Butt Kicker group, where I really do kick butt and you are expected to do the same. It is our toughest program, but it works the fastest, and in my mind is the easiest to follow. We have Fat Brain Busters which is all about coming to terms with your obesity and your relationship with food, then working every single day to change it. You can do any of the three diets in this group. The group is more chatty and members have expectations of their teammates to participate every day. For the women who are uber busy, there is the Busy Rawkers. You still have to do a log with me, but your accountability with the group is short and quick, although you should answer the daily question I pose to the group and work on your fat brain behaviors as well, you just don't have to put so much time into camp.
Everyone at RFBC is friendly and there are no cliques. To feel a part of any of our groups, all you have to do is participate.
On Mondays and Fridays everyone weighs in with the group and in our database.
Every evening after reading all the posts, I record a daily audio for the next day that is for all three groups. It is always based on what is going on at camp. If someone is struggling, their struggle might be the issue, if someone has mentioned something in a thread, I may pick up on it and talk about that. You never know where one day will lead. RFBC is an ever evolving group. We work with raw foods, but we work more with each other.
Every day in your personal log with me, you will tell me your food, calories, fat%, sodium and exercise for the day before. We will work on your problem areas and I will keep you reality based when it comes to what you are willing to do food and exercise wise and what you will get for weight loss.
I am not an enabler, but you get to choose the type of support you want from me. I can be a drill sergeant, or I can be a helpful guide with a firm hand. The choice is yours. Everyone knows what type of support they do best on.
If losing weight were easy, you wouldn't need RFBC. It is hard. A good solid group like we have at RFBC can make the difference when it comes down to dropping yet another diet in hopes to find the perfect one for you.
