Cathy actually has one pound more to go to hit goal, but we’re calling it! She’ll take this weekend to fight off the urges of running back to old ways and on Monday, she will enter our Maint In Training program. We are all very excited for her.
Cathy has embraced the athlete within and in the past few months has been on one adventure after another. She did a week long bike ride with a group of strangers, then went to Yellowstone and hiked for over a week along trails she at times didn’t even think she was capable of traversing, but she did it. Granted this hike took her a few days to recover from even at her level of fitness, but she did it. This is what change is all about. It’s about having the courage to step out of your comfort zone and tackles things you never would have considered possible.
Everyday, Cathy exemplifies what it is we stand for at RFBC. Change! Taking life and living it to the fullest. She doesn’t miss a thing. She has already signed up for more week long adventures to continue to push her new athletic self. We are all in awe of her!
Now, it’s your turn.
This transformation took 8.5 Months. Was it worth her time? Her effort? I think so, and so does she. Here is what she wrote in this morning’s daily discussion:
Since working this program I have made choices and changes that have build my self esteem and self confidence back up. I can honestly say now that I have become the person I have wanted to become but I continue to strive forward for what I want in life.~Cathy
Cathy does our Rawk Starz/Wholy Rawkers Diet (she has to do Wholy Rawkers when she takes off for these trips with food provided) and at least one hour of walking a day combined with biking, hiking, and kayaking.

Cathy Hits 70 lbs Gone in 7 Months!
Wow, what can we say about Cathy, she just inspires everyone. As you can see by her newest before and after’s she’s a biker. Now biking doesn’t work for weight loss, so she walks as well as bikes each day. Why? Because she is going to do a week long bike trip. Look at the athlete she is!
Today’s audio and daily discussion was all about Cathy and how she didn’t wait to be skinny before going after her dreams. She’s been kayaking and hiking through her whole journey with us. She inspires everyone to seek out the adventurer within.
Not too long ago, when Cathy was out kayaking, she wrote and told me she was beginning to feel bad because she was always too far ahead of the others for both kayaking and hiking. She was always in power/exercise mode. I had to remind her that we get fit so we can enjoy things like kayaking and hiking, and to leave the exercise mindset for her walking.
Cathy is a prime example of what we hope women who come through camp will embrace. Life is to be lived, to be enjoyed, and not postponed.
Cathy does our Rawk Starz diet with a minimum of 1 hour of walking a day. And lots of biking!

Cathy’s 60 lbs Gone in 6 Months with a Raw Food Diet
Cathy has become a powerhouse at camp. She leads the way for many now with her just get it done attitude. She wasn’t always like that. She used to believe a small break was okay, that there were lessons to be learned from them. Which is true, there are always lessons to be learned from breaks. But, then about seven weeks ago, she decided she didn’t want to do that anymore, that she wanted to just get this done and stop giving herself ways out. And, man, oh, man, has her progress jumped.

Cathy is going to do a week long bike ride with her husband. She has really been out there using this new body of hers. On a vacation with friends a couple of weeks ago, she realized she needed to slow down and not leave everyone in the dust when hiking and kayaking. How cool is that?
She and her husband have planned a zip lining and white water rafting vacation later this summer. She has always wanted to zip line, but there are weight restrictions. She is now 73 lbs under those weight restrictions and is very excited to go live her dream!

Cathy’s 50 lbs Gone in 4 Months Before and Afters
Cathy is inspiring everyone at camp. Not because she does our program perfectly, she doesn’t, but because no matter what happens, she is determined to do this and get it done. Cathy has fallen a few times since starting, but they weren’t long lasting falls. She gets up, learns from her choices, and gets right back to her Rawk Starz Diva ways.
Why is someone falling inspiring? Because, most do fall. Many plunge at times, but the real secret to success is not perfection, it’s determination. Getting up, dusting off, pushing forward. These are the traits Cathy shows and inspire others to follow her. She never gets down on herself. She doesn’t waste her time on the shame and guilt game. She never hides from her mistakes or finds excuses to explain herself, she just jumps up and goes for more.
50 lbs in 4 months is actually a great achievement. She has worked hard for this. Her success, tells everyone that being human, accepting you aren’t perfect, is okay. All that matters in all of this is that you don’t give up on yourself, that you believe in what you’re doing and get it done.
Cathy has become a strong voice at RFBC, and everyone is watching how she is doing this and how far it is taking her. She looks great. She is doing great. There isn’t a doubt at camp that Cathy will be with us through goal and maintenance. She never wants to be obese again.
Here is Cathy’s response to yesterday’s kudos from her RFBC pals when they saw her before and afters:
I feel like hitting 50 lbs is my magic number for victory! I am well on my way to goal and I feel like there is no turning back to old ways. Maybe a slip here or there but right back on track with my food and exercising. I am so enjoying the feeling of being alive and engaged in my own life I can’t imagine anything else. I look forward to exercising outside and doing things I have not been able to do in years.
Going on a one week bicycle tour with my husband in July, two week backpacking trip in Yellowstone National Park in August. Two month bicycle tour up the east coast (FL to ME) next April.
Bicycling, walking, hiking and paddling right in my own backyard daily. I am so enjoying my new life as the fat suit becomes a distant memory.

Cathy Hits 40 lbs Gone in 3 MonthsCathy has been pushing so much lately. She recently upped her walking to two hours a day, every day and is sticking to her plan so she can move up to our Rawk Starz Diva plan. Cathy has not been perfect on this journey, but she has used each fall as a learning lesson and feels she has grown significantly lately and is ready to take on the challenge of perfection that our Diva’s maintain.Of course, just as she was ready to join our Diva’s, I threw in a group wide challenge, so she has to wait two weeks before the divas reconvene. She’s excited and on fire and sharing that fire with everyone in her new group.Cathy has the Rawk Starz Diva bug!Her photos are amazing. This in just 3 months. Be inspired. You can do this too, and you don’t even have to be perfect!

Cathy’s 25 lbs Gone in 7 Weeks B&As
Cathy sent me her photos Sunday evening anticipating her 25 lbs gone for Monday morning. She was pretty excited to join her teammates, CrystalClear and Elain on hitting this first big milestone at camp. The three of them have been supporting and encouraging each other since they started, and it’s working.
As part of our PoPStarz Challenge group, Cathy has been on fire. She’s excited to go after our 50 lbs in 13 week challenge and is working hard to up her game for that 40 B&A in her very near future.
Like her buddies, Cathy’s first 25 lbs gone really shows. There’s no doubt the fat suit is melting, you can see it gone from all over her body. Check out her face though. She looks ten years younger. Wow, what a difference healthy foods and walking can make in our lives. I am so proud of her.
And so grateful that she volunteered to show her face. That’s not something expected from anyone other than our 100 lb challengers, but so many are offering lately. It reminds me of the team we are, and how as a group of women we understand the value of hope that we portray to all that visit our site. So thank you Cathy for sharing your face. You may never know all the women’s whose lives it touches, but you can be sure there will be many.
