ARGH! All of my comments were erased!I am glad to be here, eating raw, getting my health and utimately my life back. I have heard a lot about the benefits of raw foodism, but I didn't know if I would be able to give up the hot stuff. So here I am, and hopefully with a everyone's support we'll all be able to do this thing.

Final Comment:
This is a really hard program. Most days I want to stay only a little bit more than I want to quit. But look at the results!!! 81 lbs in just over five months is worth every single minute of exercise, every single piece of junk food not eaten. I had a whole bunch of health issues before I started that are almost all cleared up since starting raw... truly miraculous! If you are reading this and thinking about going raw, this is where it's at. All of the support you will ever need is found here at boot camp. Carlene is amazing... the most patient woman on the PLANET! Thanks for everything granny drill sergeant! I am looking forward to pushing toward hitting that 100 lbs LOST this month!

RFBC Comment:
On April 30th, I changed Kara's start weight to reflect the 6 pounds she lost the week or so before camp. This weight was lost on raw foods, so it does count. And, it has been hard as I celebrate her big milestones at camp 6 pounds after she does, so I made an executive decision. When Kara hits 100 pounds gone which may very well be in May, I want us to celebrate this victory together. Kara has not always been perfect on this program, but she has never given up. That is what it takes to succeed. Keep your eye on her, and cheer her on as works hard this month for that 100 pounds gone mark.

I know in my heart, raw living food is how we were meant to eat.... we can do this together! Let's GO!!!

I am so happy I made the decision to follow this program. It works!!! It is difficult, but if you stick with it and don't give up, you will achieve your goals! The support and dedication Carlene shows us is amazing. The accountability and discipline this bootcamp provides is exactly what I needed to achieve my goals. I can't say enough about how this bootcamp has changed my life. I will never have to worry about being overweight again, ever!

When I began a little over six weeks ago, I thought I was just here to get help losing weight... I had no idea what wondrous things were about to happen in my life! Not only have I released more weight than I dared to set a goal for, until I'd been here a couple weeks, I met the most marvelous group of women, full of life and hope and love and acceptance, I've ever come across in one place. I have launched a whole new phase in my life, one full of promise, health, a fitter body, and some new friends-- I plan for it to be my lifestyle from here on...

RFBC Comment:
Note that Tamara has lost at the level of most of the women in the 90 Day Program that started 20 days earlier. Tamara has exceeded all expectations. She never wavered. She stuck with low fat 100% raw, and pushed hard to earn this amazing weight loss in such a short period of time. This is faster than I lost the weight, and she has shown no signs of slowing down. Tamara is an active member at Rawk Village and hosts many challenges while she continues to have excellent weight loss.

Hi. I am a 30 year old stay at home mom to 4 children ages 5 and under. Our newest blessing is 1 month old. I joined boot camp because it is time for me to take care of me so that I can take care of my husband and children.

Final Comment:
I can't believe it is time to say good bye to bootcamp. This has been a tough but good experience for me. I never thought that I would actually reach the end and lose a little over 30 pounds. I look back at where I started and where I am now and I know that I can make it to my goal. I want to thank Carlene and all the ladies for the wonderful support you provided. Carlene thank you for that extra kick in the rear when I needed it it. You have been a great inspriation to me.

RFBC Comment:
For all of you who want to do high raw at RFBC you have Carmen and GypsyJan to thank. Carmen could not do 100%raw, so she agreed to continue in the original 90 day program on a high raw program. It took a week or so to find the right eating program for her, but once we did, she exceeded all expectations. She is now an active member at Rawk Village and is continuing to lose weight. With another 7.3 pounds in 4 weeks gone while preparing for the holidays, she has proven that attitude toward success is as powerful as the diet when it comes to weight loss.

We are finally here! I long to be healthy and glowing instead of having my body being described as round or pudgy or huggable and fat. I dream of buying clothes that are tighter, I can see myself running and juping without panting. I have fantasies of being able to move and bend and stretch and still laugh out loud. I need you to help me live my dream, for I cannot shoulder this alone, for I have tried before. And we are off.....

Final Comment:
On reflecting over the last few months, I have come to realize that things are not as simple as one initially thinks they will be. I simply thought that because I was committed to this program, I would sail through it. This has not been the case. It has been a hard journey for me, a time where I have taken stock and had to look deeply into the reasons I wish to live RAW. Over Christmas I decided not to be ruled by the scale, and to eat as I had prior to doing RFBC and paid the price. I have come to know that there is no quick fix, that this will have to become a lifestyle change for me. Thanks to all those who have journeyed and held me up during these months of hard work.

RFBC Comment:
Belinda has struggled around her current weight not quite able to accept a smaller weight. So to help her along, we have decided she will only weigh in once a week through the May program. This is a one month deal, so expect to see her back to her normal routine starting in June.

Starting Raw Food Boot Camp is about so much more than just shedding weight for me. Yes, I want to reach the point where I'll feel that the outside and inside belong to the same person, but it's really about choosing life and then following through from there. Discipline, determination and mutual support have been lacking up to now, and while I'll be taking it one day at a time, or sometimes even one minute at a time, what I'm also seeking here is a gateway to a path I can then continue along, towards the freedom that long term and profound health can bring.

Final Comment:
I've discovered that yes, Boot Camp is tough, and yes, it absolutely works! Not only has the weight loss been phenomenal, I've also started to become stronger and fitter, not to mention regaining self-respect and self-esteem. This camp has enabled me to get and stay on track to becoming my ideal weight and having the healthy mind and body I'd been striving for. For those brave enough to take the leap into something requiring full-on commitment and determination, there is simply nothing out there like it. I found the support I'd been lacking - from a group of women who each bring something unique yet have a common aim and bond, to a "drill sergeant" who demands your best and won't take excuses, but who's also like a "patron saint" of obese women, having lived it herself and going way beyond the call of duty in maximising every person's potential to reach their goals and achieve success. Has it been easy? No way. Am I glad to have done it? Without a doubt.

The great thing about this program is that you see immediate results. Yes, it's hard as any diet is hard, but the difference is that the progress happens so fast. I tell myself I can do anything for one day. Then at the end of that day I can see such rewards on the scale it encourages me to go for one MORE day and then another and another until 28 days and a lot of weight are gone. If you find it impossible to lose weight on other diets, this program is the one that will work for you.

It is about caring enough about myself to take the time I need for me as a person. The results prove that the program works: 31.6 inches and at least 28 pounds LOST from what I was two months ago. I am on a roll and going with it!!! Another month of adventure ahead.

I have tried raw before, with varying levels of success. Too many nuts, too much avocado, raw sweets, and salt derailed my efforts in the past. I believe that 100% Low Fat Raw can work, and I will prove it to myself by sticking to it, and being successful.

Final Comment:
I wanted so much for Bootcamp to work for me, but I wasn't sure that I could do all that was required of me for the full 28 days. It seemed like a long time to do everything right. But, I did it! I proved that I could not only keep my word to others, but more importantly for this journey, I could keep my word to myself. I had neither the fastest nor the greatest weight loss, but it was steady. I absolutely could not have done this without Bootcamp. I had come to the point that I was not able to start on my own. Bootcamp gave me another chance. If you really want this, you can have it. I had almost lost faith in my ability to change, but I found that it is never too late to try again. If you want to do this, I am here to tell you that you can make it. With the help of Carlene and the other ladies, I am on my way to my goal weight. You can do it too!

I am so excited to join all of you at BootCamp! I really need this kick in my derierre to get motivated and back on the raw path. From reading Carlene's story, it became apparent to me that just because you are a raw foodist doesn't mean that your issues with food and eating will disappear. That was my problem - even though I was raw for 6 months, I still have an addiction to food that I need to kick. Just because raw cacao truffles aren't AS bad for you doesn't mean they are good for you! I love Carlene's simple raw philosophy. It makes so much sense. I am starting this program at 179 pounds and my goal weight is 150 (pre-baby weight). I want to inspire others to beat their weight problem with raw food and hope to live a healthy lifestyle so I will be around a long time for my son.

I LOVE bootcamp!! Carlene is amazing and I live for the audio messages every morning. They are very motivational and keep me on track. I have never been so accountable on a diet before and I think that has made all the difference. The women at camp are PHENOMENAL and I look forward to seeing how they are doing every day and offering support as needed. If you want to loose weight and find a new way of thinking about food, this is the place to do it. We work through our issues together and journey towards our goals together. The weight loss during the first month is just incredible, and keeps you motivated to loose even more to get to your goal. Join the fun at RFBC!!

I’ve thought a lot about my final comments for this posting and haven’t been able to truly put down on paper how I’m feeling right now. For me, raw food boot camp was like finding that on and off switch for weight loss. I thought that switch was broken, but I was wrong, I was just using the wrong one. I feel confident that I’ll reach my ultimate goal of 160 pounds within the next several months and that with raw food I can build a successful plan for maintenance. The side benefits to raw food are fantastic and for me resulted in clearer skin, increased energy and an overall sense of being in control. After day three, most of my food cravings went away and I found myself not obsessing about food for the first time in my life. I will say that this plan takes real commitment and motivation. Being prepared at all times with food and a backup exercise plan was critical for me. The exercise also played a huge role. The days I didn’t put in the time or just went through the motions were the days I had little to no results. When I increased the exercise and intensity, the weight just melted off. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Carlene and the amazing woman of the April Reigns 2008 boot camp. I feel very privileged to have been part of this inspiring group of people.

Chris lost 155 pounds on her own over a six year period. She had kept the weight off, fluctuating between 10 and 20 pounds for the past two years without reaching her final goal. She joined RFBC with the hopes we would help her get rid of these last 38 pounds. She lost 20 her first month with us, and is back to lose the last 18. She inspires us all, and offers hope to everyone who has dealt with obesity that change is possible, and goals can be met and maintained. We are honored to have her at Boot Camp.

I'm excited and scared; excited and wondering what have I gotten into; but mostly, I'm thrilled to start this new life. I'm grateful that this is available for me to join. I am a below knee amputee, and have Carlene's permission to get on the stationary bike if I have to, but I'm thinking I can really do the one hour walk after reading Cheri's daily talks with Carlene.

Final Comment:
In every diet, there's the strong pull to quit the diet and go back to the old eating habits. It's true here, too, but with the great support of these ladies, Carlene's drive and the actual good way you feel from eating raw vegan, it's easier to get through those times you just want to give up. Here, the weight just drops off because you're giving to your body exactly what it's meant to have and it responds. Here, the exercising, like it or not, gets done better because you're reading how well everyone else is doing and you think about that when you don't want to walk. You learn you DO have it in you to finally lose this weight. This is a great place to be. I'm coming back next month.

I have had to take complete responsibility for all my actions and have learned tremendously about why I do what I do and how to take another path. A better, healthier path. The thought going raw is what I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I just couldn’t start because I found so much comfort in overeating. It has taken me a long time to realize and accept the fact that I don’t have to feel that way when I eat. There’s nothing wrong with eating until satisfied or even slightly hungry!I am grateful to be a part of this program. Carlene’s success and the success of other participants are inspiring, and I know that with raw I CAN lose the weight! Thanks for all of your support, and good luck to all of you on your journeys to discover who you really are.

This has been a fantastic journey! I have learned a lot about myself in this process - that I can do it, that I can succeed, that I can stick to something and do it for myself. Carlene has had to give me a swift kick a few times but with that, I was able to pick myself up again and continue. I am so appreciative of the opportunity to have been a part of this wonderful program. I know now that even though I won't continue with 100% raw, I always have it to fall back on if nothing else seems to work. The exercise has helped tremendously in making me feel like a stronger person. I will always remember this experience as one of the best in my life, and I sincerely recommend this program to anyone who wishes to lose weight quickly and healthfully.

The best part of me would make different choices every day in the way I live. I would choose to live a vegan lifestyle, free of sugar and refined foods. I would exercise daily, despite my disability due to injury. But that side of me is not in control of my actions right now. The grey lizard part of me is, and she prefers the sweaty dark beneath a rock. Of course, a bag of cheetos and a Hershey bar make the illusion of comfort seem real.I was able to maintain a 100% raw lifestly for several months without support from a community of people who have their own personal understanding and struggle with obesity. I felt so much better. I noticed my mind was clearer, I was more energetic, and I had very littel pain. I couldn't sustain it because I didn't have that support. With the help of boot camp members, I plan to revert to a living foods lifestyle and stay that way until it is second nature to me. Even if I were down to a non-obese weight, I would want to remain committed to this lifestyle.

Final Comment:
I am so glad I took part in this program! I'm not exactly sure why RFBC works for me. I certainly didn't do it perfectly (meaning I kept jumping off the raw wagon onto the cooked food cart). It was motivating to drop 30 pounds. At the time I joined RFBC, I was gaining weight. So I think it's safe to say I actually lost 45 pounds, because I probably would have gained 15. There's something about the program that helped me to keep jumping back on track. I have trouble sustaining any healthy eating plan, but I think I can this one with RFBC and Rawk Village's help. I'm looking forward to continuing.

RFBC Comment:
Lightfield has struggled here and there and has had quite a few trip ups, but with each one she came back to camp, fessed up, and forged ahead. For many who have less weight to lose, sticking with a program faithfully for 6 weeks is easy if they think that at the end they will be at their goal. Lightfield has a long way to go to reach her goal. From past experiences at camp we have found that women with more than 200 pounds to lose give up rather easily because the reality of how long it will take and the commitment it involves is overwhelming. Not Lightfield, she is working to find a way to conquer her obesity and reclaim her life. She is not one to give up easily, and even though at times it seems impossible, she gets back up and makes the next day count. You can only admire and cheer on this type of commitment. I know I do. Lightfielder is an active member at Rawk Village.

I found being part of bootcamp was an excellent tool to keep my goal in mind. Carlene makes sure we know we are here to lose weight and pushes us to keep at it. Going through this daily with my fellow campers made it possible. They are an exceptionable group of women full of support and encouragement (we leave the butt-kicking to Carlene). It is definitely a boost to know I was not alone in doing this and others were out there doing it too and in many cases experiencing the same ups and downs I was on a daily basis and we were working through them together. I still have more weight to lose and definitely will be back in camp in January!
