I am so glad I took part in this program! I'm not exactly sure why RFBC works for me. I certainly didn't do it perfectly (meaning I kept jumping off the raw wagon onto the cooked food cart). It was motivating to drop 30 pounds. At the time I joined RFBC, I was gaining weight. So I think it's safe to say I actually lost 45 pounds, because I probably would have gained 15. There's something about the program that helped me to keep jumping back on track. I have trouble sustaining any healthy eating plan, but I think I can this one with RFBC and Rawk Village's help. I'm looking forward to continuing.

RFBC Comment:
Lightfield has struggled here and there and has had quite a few trip ups, but with each one she came back to camp, fessed up, and forged ahead. For many who have less weight to lose, sticking with a program faithfully for 6 weeks is easy if they think that at the end they will be at their goal. Lightfield has a long way to go to reach her goal. From past experiences at camp we have found that women with more than 200 pounds to lose give up rather easily because the reality of how long it will take and the commitment it involves is overwhelming. Not Lightfield, she is working to find a way to conquer her obesity and reclaim her life. She is not one to give up easily, and even though at times it seems impossible, she gets back up and makes the next day count. You can only admire and cheer on this type of commitment. I know I do. Lightfielder is an active member at Rawk Village.

I found being part of bootcamp was an excellent tool to keep my goal in mind. Carlene makes sure we know we are here to lose weight and pushes us to keep at it. Going through this daily with my fellow campers made it possible. They are an exceptionable group of women full of support and encouragement (we leave the butt-kicking to Carlene). It is definitely a boost to know I was not alone in doing this and others were out there doing it too and in many cases experiencing the same ups and downs I was on a daily basis and we were working through them together. I still have more weight to lose and definitely will be back in camp in January!

RFBC Comment:
Moonbeam did our high raw program and lost 9.5 pounds in 4 weeks. She also had surgery near the end, but stuck it through. She will will be back for our New Year's Resolution program to continue towards her goal of great health.

For most of my life weight has been an issue. However, for many years I managed to keep my weight from ballooning out of control by engaging in lots movement: hiking, dancing, walking, and weight resistance exercises. That is, I did this until five years ago when quite literally overnight I developed a lung condition that brought the exercise to a stop. I am now so heavy and deconditioned that it is simply difficult and painful to move. My breathing is very labored with loud wheezing, I have osteoarthritis in my spine, knees, neck, hips, ankles, and feet. In addition, I have osteoporosis. Also, I live in fear of tripping and falling and injuring myself. I am literally off balance due to my obesity. My goal @ RFBC to achieve by December 15, 2007 is to not just vaguely say I want to lose weight and move more but to establish these specific goals: to lose forty pounds and to walk three miles at a sustained pace of 75 minutes total. In addition, my goal is to experience a significant improvement in lung capacity with less labored breathing, as well as greater joint flexibility and reduced arthritic pain. This would be a tremendous improvement over where I am today. I believe that achieving these goals will inspire me to continue to establish more health-oriented goals so that I will within a year reach my goal weight of 150 pounds and even greater exercise ability so that I will be able to return to the hiking and dancing that I have so missed. I intrinsically believe that eating 100% raw is the healthiest and most optimal way to eat. I am intent on giving a 100% effort for these next ninety days @ RFBC and to achieve these stated goals.

I can't believe these precious weeks are coming to a close. It has been an amazing journey being here with Carlene and all of the empowering ladies of RFBC! I am still astonished by how powerful being involved with an on-line support group can be. Every morning I just could not wait to sign in and listen to Carlene's audio and read her personal remarks. She has this uncanny ability to say exactly what I needed to hear at that moment in time. I now have the tools that will carry me into the future regardless of what challenge or obstacle life hands me. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Carlene!

RFBC Comment:
Jan was the other woman who left camp because she couldn't do the low fat program and returned with Carmen. She had blood sugar issues and was light headed, so we worked out a program that included some salmon a few times a week and she stuck to it faithfully. Her results say so much, but not all. When Jan started this program she wasn't walking much and when I told her she had to walk in 2-3 minute intervals for half an hour a day she was scared she couldn't do it. Well, now she does the half hour without any complaints and is feeling a new more natural gait to her walking. She came to reclaim her health, and that is what she is doing.

Hello everyone. My names is Gail. I have been extremely overweight for most of my adult life. I have not taken responsibility for my health and have thrown it away. I feel like I have ruined my body. My goal is to regain my health. Because I have so much weight to lose, I am wrestling with the fact that this will probably take me a couple of years. I want to learn to move toward my goal one step at a time and learn to love the process. It makes me sad that I have waited so long to lose weight - but dwelling on that is pointless. The bottom line is that there is no better time for me than right now to accomplish this goal. I am here to regain my health using raw food and exercise. I am here to learn discipline. I am ready for a new start in life. I intend to work this program as if my life depends on it - actually, it just might. Go ladies!

I almost accomplished my first goal of 1 pound loss per day - lots of FOCUS!, FOCUS!, FOCUS!. My second goal was not to get kicked out - guess I accomplished that one.

Gail may not be a big chatter, but she is one determined woman, and has shown everyone that all it takes is sticking to it to make it happen. 26.5 lbs in 4 weeks is amazing, we couldn't be more proud of her. Gail is a member of Rawk Village.

I LOVE bootcamp!! Carlene is amazing and I live for the audio messages every morning. They are very motivational and keep me on track. I have never been so accountable on a diet before and I think that has made all the difference. The women at camp are PHENOMENAL and I look forward to seeing how they are doing every day and offering support as needed. If you want to loose weight and find a new way of thinking about food, this is the place to do it. We work through our issues together and journey towards our goals together. The weight loss during the first month is just incredible, and keeps you motivated to loose even more to get to your goal. Join the fun at RFBC!!

Hi it's Voodina, checking in for the first time. I have been terrified and excited about joining RFBC, but I joined anyway, because I've done things before that I was terrified of and pushed through despite the challenges and succeeded! And I know I am going to succeed here too (I'm already claiming victory :) Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I'm happy to have the support, accountability and tough love from all of the women in camp. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

This was tough, but it was soooo worth it. Where else can you go and lose almost 20 lbs in one month! I'm exicted to continue with the program until I see my final weight loss goal met and maintained. Thanks RFBC Ladies for the constant support and thanks to Carlene for not letting me give up even when I wanted to. It truly is the support from this unique group of women that makes the difference between success and failure.

Another great month has passed! This month was filled with distractions, but I lost weight, and that is what i came here for. Because of a holiday and a very busy schedule , i wont be back for march, but i know i will continue to lose because this program and all of the women in it have helped me to make a change in the way i eat, exercise, and just think about food. In the words of Carlene, how cool is that??!!

RFBC Comment:
Kelly Marie was HRII's cheerleader. She kept people laughing and I am sure is one of the major reasons so many finished this program. Kelly mixed her fruit with her salads to ensure her blood sugar stayed stable, and was able to do the program with great success. She is a prime example of someone who is willing to work the program to make it work for her. I am glad she will be back for the New Year's Resolution program.

This has not been easy, but it HAS been worth it! It's also been a fantastic learning experience. It's really the only thing that has worked for me that is also healthy. I tried to do raw foods on my own for two years and I just couldn't stick to it. Carlene and the other members gave me the support I needed to stick it out. I've found support here like never before. As hard as it was, I'm already looking forward to the next bootcamp!

Wow how time flies. It just seams like yesterday that we all started camp. This program has helped me in so many ways, it's not just a weight loss program. It's also a spiritual and emotional growth program. It all works together to make the best weight loss program there is. Carlene is amazing with the support she offers and how she challenges us. The women here at camp are awesome individuals who are very supportive in their own sweet way. It is wonderful to be in a camp of like minded women who are striving for the same goal. At times it has been hard but in the end all worth it. It's truely one of the best things I have done for myself. Thank you Carlene and all of the women in camp.

I'm psyched to get started! I strayed from raw a while back...but I'm back with a vengeance! This time failure isn't an option. I've been heavy all my life, and I turn 29 next month and I want to be thin before I turn 30.

Final Comment:
While I didn't do as well as I would've liked to, I learned a lot about myself through the reflection exercises that we did. I learned a lot about why I do the things that I do with my eating and in diets. I've also learned that if I want my family to be healthy I might have to push them a bit to do it too...but in the end, isn't that what's most important, my family's health? Yep, it is!

RFBC Comment:
Ushie had a hard time managing her job as a police officer, home, and Boot Camp and wasn't as consistent as either she or I would have liked, but she stuck with us to the end and is constantly working on giving herself another great succes story. You can read about her success of finishing the Police Academy over at the Rawk Village website.
