GlowGirl Wins 50 lbs in 3 Months Challenge

GlowGirl started her journey a little off our plan. It’s hard for newbies to accept that our guidelines can be right. They come afraid of the fruit, thinking they should eat more veggies than fruit, believe the fewer calories the better, etc. It took us a couple of weeks to get her on the right path. Once she saw the results, she hasn’t wavered from our Rawk Starz Diva diet and walking plan and wow, the weight is just falling off.
As a winner of our 50 lbs in 3 Months Challenge, GlowGirl won a free month of camp. She offered to show her face to show you what our Rawk Starz Diva plan can do and earned another free month of camp. She says she wants to lose 50 more pounds, but I can’t imagine where it would come from.
In Her Own Words
Carlene asks each of our ladies who do before and afters that when they win our 50 lbs in 3 Months Challenge. They answer the following questions to share with the world. Here are GlowGirl’s answers in Her Own Words:
1. Tell us about yourself and where you were physically and mentally before joining RFBC:
Before starting RFBC I was hiding under baggy clothes, and stayed home because I was ashamed of my excess weight, and didn’t want to do anything that would make me “visible” or be the center of attention. I use to be a lurker on the website after coming across Michelle’s incredible 100pounds weight loss on a google search. I tried to replicate her results and do my version of the program, and lost ten pounds. I finally joined the Rawk Star Divas on May 21st. I had a sedentary lifestyle and experienced joint pain. I tried to make healthy food choices, but I would constantly overeat.
2. What have you learned the most about yourself and your relationship with food since starting RFBC?
Since joining RFBC I learned that I was a food addict. I knew my relationship with food was not healthy. Since I was very young I used to overeat, but because I was thin it didn’t seem like an issue. I used food as a reward, to calm myself, as a comforting agent and even withheld myself from eating as a punishment for my weight. Today I have a better understanding of what is healthy and practice self-compassion and eat quality foods to sustain and nourish my body.
3. What Physical and mental health benefits have you noticed since joining RFBC?
I no longer have any joint pain since starting RFBC. I’m also able to walk long distance and up the stairs without any issues. I also experienced congestion and had a post nasal drip throughout the year, but that disappeared as well.
4. What have been some of the biggest highlights of your journey?
Some of the highlights of my journey has been an increase in my self-esteem, I struggled with self-acceptance and throughout my time at RFBC, and with my 50-pound weight loss and counting, I have gained more self-compassion and self-worth. I have also been sharing this journey with a few very wise women who have been very supportive and inspirational with their hard work and kind words.
5. What advice would you offer your readers and newbies at RFBC so they might enjoy your type of success?
I would tell anyone who’s reading this that it’s time to take back your life. You are the master of your situation. Make the effort to lose the weight. I know that my journey may not be the best course of action for you, but find something that works for you and stick with it. It will be rewarding physically and mentally.
