Jenna is Back to Get This Done
Jenna is a returning member at Raw Food Boot Camp. In her previous efforts at camp she struggled. Emotional eating, sticking with her chosen plan. Typical problems everyone faces while dieting. But when she was here previously she listened and she thought and she tackled what was standing in her way.
When she returned this time it was with the determination that she was not going to be stuck in a fat suit any longer.
It hasn’t been all been rainbows and unicorns. She’s had struggles, but she realized food wouldn’t fix the struggles so she didn’t eat over them. This is one of the biggest hurdles dieters have to overcome. We are all so proud of her, but not as proud as she is of herself.

Since Jenna’s last photos life took some sharp turns. She has a new job with big hours and tons of stress and fit in a 3 week vaction. Kudos to you Jenna for not eating over all this and still losing weight. You look awesome!
In Her Own Words
Carlene asks each of our ladies who do before and afters that when they hit 60 lbs gone they answer the following questions to share with the world. Here are Jenna’s Answers in Her Own Words:
1. Tell us about yourself and where you were physically and mentally before joining RFBC:
I’m a 46 year old wife and mother living in Australia. I’m a returning member of camp, with this journey starting on 1 January 2018.
My weight on my 1 January was 251 lbs (114kg) which is considered to be morbidly obese. I certainly felt that way in my size 24 jeans which were too tight. I had chronic joint pain, frequent migraines, high cholesterol, acne, and a very low self esteem. I couldn’t walk for more than 10 minute intervals and my feet and ankles were constantly swollen. On a camping trip my family laughed at my efforts to roll off an inflatable mattress and onto my knees where I got stuck and had to get assistance getting on my feet. I wasn’t able to walk far enough to get from the car to the beach, so I stayed behind while the family went on without me. I was at rock bottom emotionally.
2. What have you learned the most about yourself and your relationship with food since starting RFBC?
I have learned that I will never be able to eat certain foods again – in particular sugar and alcohol as these are not substances I can consume in moderation. The good news is that I have felt no desire to consume either since day 10 on this program.
3. What Physical and mental health benefits have you noticed since joining RFBC?
I’m much fitter now and can walk briskly for 2 hours and feel triumphant when I get home. I find my time outdoors walking to be invigorating and almost medicinal for my state of mind as my mood is always happy and positive after a walk. I feel accomplished and that I am moving in the direction of my best self. My skin has cleared up completely, my migraines are less frequent and my joint pain is greatly diminished.
4. What have been some of the biggest highlights of your journey?
Feeling gratitude and self acceptance thanks to the great community that is RFBC. Seeing possibilities for the future and hope for a better life.
5. What advice would you offer your readers and newbies at RFBC so they might enjoy your type of success?
Follow the program as it has been set out and gradually increase your physical activity until you reach your maximum potential. Take opportunity to really reflect on your past failures and be committed to learning from them. Keep moving forward, no matter how slowly!

Jenna sent me her photos with a note that she didn’t think there was much difference between her 40 lbs gone photos and her start photos. Man was she wrong.
Jenna continues to stay focused and on plan. She fights the urge to eat over emotions and is winning. Fast weight loss while always preferred is not her top priority. This time at camp, she is here for goal and is tackling the struggle of long-term dieting with a mindset that this is what she wants and this is how she is going to get it. I am so proud of her.
