Back in 2014, Menza hit 90 lbs gone, but wasn’t ready to declare goal. Over the winter she chose to maintain her weight through the cold and busy season. Her family, as in her and her children, produce large production plays whose proceeds go to returning vets families. She is always busy. But, now that the weather has warmed, she decided to finish this off. Today, we celebrate Menza hitting 100 lbs Gone and Goal.

The photos really say it all. The transformation is amazing.

Here is what she had to say in yesterday’s discussion thread about why it is important to remember how we all felt prior to RFBC so we never go back to those old ways.

It is so worth eating well to feel good! It is actually a small price to pay in comparison to felling and being sick now and as we age. The thing that keeps me going is the knowledge that a portion of my health is my choice. There are things we cannot control when it comes to sicknesses, but there is much that we can control. I do not want to have to be cared for by my children because I made poor food choices. I don’t want to have terrible neuropathies, immobility, numbness that prevents movement, shaking, blindness, amputations….or any of the other things that can be caused by a lifetime of eating junk food. I choose to control my eating and enjoy good health!

Well, again, I have put you in a place where you have to trust me. For those who have been watching Menza lose her weight, you know how well she’s done. For others, you’ll need to go to her journey page and see all of her before and afters so you are convinced. For her hundred pound before and afters we are working to show her face. Unfortunately, her start photos were a little messed up, so we may do some cut and paste!

Menza is one of our Rawk Starz Divas. She is the mother of five, the oldest is 24. Next time when you see her face, you won’t believe she could have a 24 year old son. That’s the thing about all three of our current top divas. They look so healthy and fit. So many are afraid of our diet. I think the proof is in these wonderful, determined women. Fruits, veggies, hemp, greens and walking.

Oh, I forgot to say, Menza lost her 90 lbs in a little less than 9 months.

I wrote Menza back this evening and asked where she thinks she can lose more weight. Her tummy is flat, her waist is slim. She is beautiful. I think it’s time to start transitioning to maintenance. Don’t you agree?

Menza’s 80 lbs Gone in 7 Months

Menza hit 80 lbs gone this past week. At times she has felt the losses have been slow, but let’s take a look at that. In seven months she has done what most can’t. 7 Months ago, in April, she looked at our webpages, she thought about what we do, and decided to take a chance. But just like everyone who joins, I’m sure there was as much doubt as excitement. Could this really happen for me? This only happens for others. Not me.

In that, she was wrong. I think she would tell you that this has been a long journey. We all tend to forget the accomplishment behind a loss like this. We look at it day to day, we compare ourselves against others, but the truth is, seven months ago, the idea of being in a size 8 for Menza was crazy. That was like looking for miracles. And yet, here she is, in her teenage daughter’s clothes looking fantastic. In just seven months!

I applaud you Menza. I know your fellow divas cherish you and see you as an inspiration and mentor. You will all hit goal and maintenance as a team, one of the strongest teams we’ve ever had at camp. Congratulations.

A raw food diet rawks. Fast weight loss is awesome. But health is our overall goal. Okay, you can’t see her face, but even by looking at the tone of her body, at the smooth of her arms, you can see the health. What we do here is good. And, I have to admit, even I am touched by not just the physical changes these women are making, but the lifelong changes in attitude about what they want health wise and food wise for the rest of their lives. None of them plans to be raw for life, but none plan on returning to old behaviors and habits either. They know now how good it feels to be healthy and plan to be with us through maintenance for a very long time.

I do believe, I do believe. In RFBC. What about you?

Menza’s 70 lbs Gone with a Raw Food Diet

Menza hit 70 lbs gone this morning using our raw food diet for fast weight loss. Now, I will admit, this past month, she wasn’t thinking it was fast weight loss at all. It has taken her a few days more than 5.5 months to drop 70 pounds. Imagine thinking that was slow weight loss! These past 10 pounds took a grueling 34 days. She was stuck at a sticky point which for her felt like forever. But as always, it broke and the weight has been falling off again. This happens, it’s part of the process. It happened to me, it happens to everyone. There are times the scale does not move. I tell everyone. Trust the process. Your body knows what it is doing. The scale is just one metric in the weight loss journey. It will catch up. And trust me, I always get to say, I told you so!

Before you see Menza’s real before and afters. I want you to see the change her body has made in the past 34 days. She fought through the sticky point, keeping to her 2 hours of walking a day. She did not break her plan. And this, my friends, is what it did for her. Remember, these photos are just 34 days and 10 pounds apart.

The difference is huge. So while she was thinking her body was no longer getting fast weight loss on her raw food diet, it was busy tightening and shrinking all over.

In the past nine years, one of the biggest lessons I have learned and I try hard to pass it on to our members is: TRUST THE PROCESS. This just works.

As for those 70 lbs gone. Here is her full 70 lbs gone in a little over 5.5 months before and afters. You won’t believe it’s the same woman, but it is. Her transformation is beyond amazing.

That’s her daughter’s t-shirt and a pair of pants she didn’t even know she owned that were hidden deep in a drawer. Both size mediums. At 5 foot 7 inches, she still wants to drop 32 pounds to hit 145. Its hard to consider where those pounds will come from. You have to agree, she looks amazing.

I get to see her face. She is a mother of 5 with a 21 year old son and she looks in her 20’s.

This is what a raw food diet and walking can do. Fast weight loss is only part of it, the health, the sense of vitality and fitness bring a whole new level to dieting. A raw food diet will make you glow. Walking will transform you. As it has Menza.

Menza’s Hits 60 lbs Gone in 4.5 Months

Menza is one of the busiest women I know. This weekend she is putting on a post-graduation party for her son. Then she is on to the next production her family theater is producing for the fall. Her home life is chaos half the time with so many teenagers in and out, so many deadlines. The other day, she wrote me and said she had this ominous feeling like she was doomed to fail. That happens, especially around the 4 month mark. Most of us aren’t used to dieting for this long, and if we do, this is the time we quit. But, for Menza, the answer was easy. I asked her about her plays and how often she gets that overwhelming sense of, how will we pull this off. She replied it was exactly how she felt a month before opening day. She panics, but then reminds herself get this thing done right now and then she’ll do the next thing until everything gets done, and if she misses something, so be it. The show will still be awesome. Just like her journey here!

Last week, Menza pulled a groin muscle and has been in a lot of pain. Diva that she is, she kept up her exercise by doing Chair Cardio. Today she wrote and told me she was antsy. She never thought she would need or rather want to exercise to feel right. This is all so very cool.

Menza’s 50 lbs Gone Before and Afters

Okay, that’s a slight exaggeration. They are her 49 lb gone before and afters. She left for vacation, so we decided to do the before and afters now for her to take with her as a reminder of all her hard good work. But get this, she did this in 14.5 weeks.

How great does she look? And she did the past 8 pounds in 2 weeks while she and her family produced a play for charity. Thirty-four actors, 80 costumes, and most of it done in her home. Talk about stress! Talk about success! She has no plans on ending her great weight loss streak while on vacation either.

I know, I know, I just posted her 25 lbs gone before and afters. She lost these next ten pounds pretty darn fast. She is one of our Rawk Starz Divas. That means she does our 100% low fat, low sodium, low sugar raw with 2 hours of walking a day. You have to admit, 35 lbs on her has made a huge difference. I mean, wow!! I have a confession. I had to go back and check her email to make sure these came from Menza, the change is so amazing. Congrats, Menza.

Menza’s 25 lb Gone Before and Afters

Menza joined our Rawk Starz Diva Challenge in May after a slow start at camp. She took her walking up to the 2 hours and dropped 17 lbs in May proudly hitting her first 25 lbs gone. This month, Menza has stayed strong even though there have been struggles. As of today she is at 33 lbs gone, so she’ll have new photos next week (I was late getting these ones out).
